CORRIGENDUM
Subject:- Initiation of Mid term Review regarding anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of certain types/grades of alloy and non alloy steel billets, bars and rounds from Russia and China PR.
F. No. 15/6/2004-DGAD- The Designated Authority, having regard to the Customs Act, 1975 as amended in 1995 and the Customs Tariff (Identification, Assessment and Collection of Anti-Dumping Duty on Dumped Articles and for Determination of Injury) Rules, 1995, hereby makes the following clarification in the Initiation Notification notified vide Notification No.15/6/2004-DGAD dated 24th May, 2004.
1. The words, “or Additional Duty” and “and Ukraine” are deleted from the third and seventh sentences respectively of the opening paragraph.
2. The word “and” is inserted in the seventh sentence of the opening paragraph.
3. The paragraph on Product Under Consideration in the Initiation Notification shall read as follows:
“The Product under consideration is "certain types/grades of alloy and non alloy steel billets, bars and rounds having 70 mm to 250mm diameter conforming to IS specification or any other international specification equivalent to IS standards". The list of grades as mentioned in the initiation notification (of the original investigation) dated 9.12.99 and corrigendum dated 21.1.2000 remains the same. The product under consideration is classified under sub-head 7206.90, 7207.19 and 7207.20 of Schedule I of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 The Classification is, however, indicative only and is in no way binding on the scope of the present investigations.”
4. The words “Russia and China PR” are to be read in seventh line of the paragraph on Initiation. In the same paragraph “Rule 23 supra of the Anti-Dumping Rules” should be read in lieu of Section 9 A (5) of Customs Tariff (Amendment) Act, 1995. The word “Ltd.” should be read after “M/s. Maharashtra Seamless” in the said paragraph.
5. Paragraph 3 on Procedure shall read as follows:
“Having decided to review the final findings notified vide No 31/1/99 dated 1st June, 2001 and final duty imposed on 26th June, 2001, the Authority hereby initiates mid-term review investigations to review the need for the continued imposition of anti-dumping duty on imports of certain types/grades of alloy and non alloy steel billets, bars and rounds originating in or exported from Russia and China PR in accordance with the Customs Tariff (Amendment) Act, 1995 and the Customs Tariff (Identification, Assessment & Collection of Anti Dumping Duty on Dumped Articles and for Determination of Injury) Rules, 1995.”
